Former Deputy Information Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu believes that the 2022 budget would be filled with more taxes and suffering for Ghanaians.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Thursday, November 4, 2021, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stated that Vice President Bawumia ought to be occupying a leadership role in the discussion of the economy because Ghana is currently at a stage where critical decisions need to be taken, otherwise, the Ghanaian economy may not even survive the next year.
According to him, the Minister for Finance’s claim that the 2022 budget will regain investor confidence is a cryptic language for the introduction of very painful taxes.
He added that, Ghanaians are going through a lot of pain and difficulties to the extent that they cannot afford to buy fuel, foodstuff, basic services and many others.
He explained that in other for government to come out of the hole they have dug, they need to generate revenue of about ten billion Ghana cedis.
He noted that, the only way they would be able to achieve that is to introduce taxes and other harsh measures to create more pain and suffering for Ghanaians.
