The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has announced that the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration will abolish the payment of tolls on all public roads and bridges.

This was made known by the Minister while presenting the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

“…Government has abolished all tolls on public roads and bridges,” Mr. Ofori-Atta stated.

According to him, “this takes effect immediately the Budget is approved.”

He further revealed that toll collection personnel will be reassigned.

According to him, a new levy will be imposed to make the toll paying more universal.
